GAME DAY

GAME DAY

This is what it’s like to love baseball, together, in America’s Finest City. Join me as host, journalist, producer and director of this exclusive ‘Game Day’ series to experience an up-close-and-personal, heart-to-heart, look into the lives of the people and places that makes Major League Baseball so special and unique in San Diego, California.

In 2023 we went neighborhood by neighborhood, person by person, to share the bigger and deeper stories of the people and places that make the culture of baseball so special in San Diego, California. Each episode laced with it’s own deeper meaning and message. On the journey, we met at Petco Park for opening weekend where our around-the-world community is always together; We travelled to North County to surf and cook breakfast on the beach with some of baseball’s biggest fans in Carlsbad— (they just so happened to become the face of Petco Park the week before their episode went live. Coincidence? I think not!); We ate life-changing pizza Downtown at Timmy’s Place- an organization that is single-handedly providing employment and housing for youth who are without a home in our city; We adventured the entire city over summer {because backyard travel is what San Diego does} and reminisced on how baseball and softball has influenced our life when my entire family came to town (!); We went to San Diego State and highlighted the bad.ass. women who are paving the way for the game of softball and, truly, setting the standard in culture and mission; and finally, we went to Mira Mesa to meet Padre’s pitcher Joe Musgrove and his team at their brand new gym- where he had just built San Diego’s first baseball-specific hub for the elite development and success of future players.

To say the least, these conversations wrecked me in the best way. Conducting these interviews, telling their stories, and connecting with each and every person- both on camera and off- was the absolute highest honor. The beauty I got to witness in the way each mind and heart influences the collective heartbeat of this city is something I do not take lightly. And the opportunity to share in the individual and collective game that we’re really playing here is one of my biggest professional joys.

Whether it’s
Community..
Mentorship..
Family..
Culture..
Or innovation and leadership…
These are absolutely the games worth playing.

And I am beyond honored to have sat up close and personal with this group of people, in this city, in order to have had the opportunity to talk with them about that!
