Be Moved
What moves you? What gets you out of bed to do the things you do in a day? Are you moved to do them? Or do you move because you have to?
I’ve been meditating on these words lately: “Be moved.”
I’ve realized that there is so much truth hidden in them. That theres layers. That our movement every day is deeper than we give it credit.
Here’s the reality: the world is influential. People, places, circumstances- they all have energy. Pushing us to do things, & pulling us in different directions. And I was just wondering if you’ve sat down and asked yourself if you're moving in your way? Towards things that feel like grace for you? In a way that makes you feel light (not heavy or conflicted). In a way that makes you feel at peace and happy?
I want to know. Because I have to stop and ask myself this all the time. “Is this me? Do I want to be here, doing this? Are these my words? Is this book honestly something I care about reading? Is this activity honestly something I care about doing?… or am I doing it because something, somewhere, said I should?”
This has become a big part of my personal leadership. I want you to feel something true because I know what it’s like. I know what college is like. I know what out-of-alignment feels like. I know how strong the pushing forces are—and I know how hard it is to choose the tug of my heart and whats good for me, over the pull of the world. I get it.
I just want the playing field that we play on, here, to be a place (when you’ve lost sight or strength momentarily) that points you back to back to you. That brings you back home. The place that reminds you of the permission slip you received as a birth-right— the one that allows you to be all the things you want to be… and to be all the things you already are. Nothing more, nothing less.
This is why I move. Why I’m moved.
Because when you come to the realization that your worth comes from you… that who you are is exactly who you should be… that integrity is something to be valued— you can’t be stopped.
Bottom line, when you choose whats true and honest and home for you… you get to see more of the Divine plan for your life. And let me tell you… THAT’S a game worth waking up and playing every day. That’s a game you’ll shoot out of bed for.
Not only that- but you start to see that what you choose to do with your life, and who you choose to be, has the power to make a difference in another’s.
So I want us to pay more attention to that. That moving just to move… without all those reasons… it just that. Moving.
That moving without being first moved by something inherently planted within you by God… is just, exhausting. Wasted energy.
But moving because you’ve been moved- that, is energizing.
That’s an unlimited energy source.
That’s something you can lean on.
Something you can plug-in to and believe in when you can’t move yourself anymore.
That gives you a reason.
What moves you?
