Courage To Play
There is no harder work that we’ll do than the work of getting out of our own way. The work of surrendering our pain, our pride, our self-protection, and our own ideas for how this crazy life should go/be— for the freeing game of living for a bigger idea, instead.
The look-ourself-in-the-face work is the hardest to choose. Because there’s a lot at stake. Our self-importance, how we’ll look, being seen, change, & maybe even coming out on the other side with a voice that not everyone agrees with. But to put it simply, it’s the game of a leader. One that makes a difference. Starting with their self.
This work is the hardest we’ll ever do. But I’ve found that it’s not only necessary… it’s extremely (life-alteringly, in-the-best-possible-way) worth it.
Cause all of the best of life is on the other side of it.
So if you don't have the courage to play… who will?
