Is This Honestly What Life Expects From Us?
The certainty is gone. Justifications and reasonings are communicated through gut feelings, not road signs. And they’re not felt by everyone… just you.
And Then God Gave Us Off Season
For months, you are not on a team. Your schedule and how you choose to use your time, beneficial or not, for growth and gain or not- is up to you. And if for some reason my vote counted… I say it’s off season that gets all the glory.

Half Way
It’s become my favorite thing in the world to watch a player make a diving catch. Or a play they have absolutely no business making. Because it’s not something you can teach.

The (real) Winning Moment
It’s actually a living, breathing, covered in sweat and dirt and purpose, filled with Joy and smiles too big for our faces- way of being…
Why Your Jersey is The Most Important Part of The Game
My curiosity and magnetic pull to dig deeper and reveal truth- is just how I was sewn together. The light and joy I feel listening to the words that follow that question- is the very thing that makes me who I am. It is my by-nature strength.
Play Free
I used to do this on the field— try to force hits, the perfect swing, throw, pitch... you name it. It’s the death-grip of control that we default to in order to make life certain again. In order to define ourselves. And it makes me smile because it never changes. The game. Because we never change. Underneath our jerseys, we’re human.
Toward
Why is change so hard? What is it about the transition from one season to the next, that makes us resist... everything?

Exactly Where You’re Supposed To Be
When the majority of the world is going one way.... please, go the other.
Where It Takes You
The tangent. The side road. The unexpected.

Your Funeral Speech
Because you don’t come face to face with the reality of who you are and who the world sees you to be…. and come out on the other side the same person. You don’t come to acceptance with your humanness and your mortality, without realizing how much it matters.
ath.lete
I always say that being an athlete isn’t just something we do... it’s a lifestyle. A way of life. It impacts every detail of it.
Right Here, Right Now.
And the coolest part is that it's actually intentional that we don't know what's coming. God did it on purpose. So that we can enjoy here and now. He wants us to miss nothing at all. He wants us to be right where we are. He delights in us enjoying it (hello LOVE).

Through The Eyes Of A Giant
On my senior weekend of my collegiate softball career, I remember writing about my immense gratitude for the pain I was feeling. I literally simultaneously wrote about how devastated I was that one chapter of my life was coming to a close (the only one I truly knew) and also about how grateful I was for my complete and utter heart-wrenching experience of the door closing.

The Game of Evolution
For me, there is no more vulnerable place. No more vulnerable place than the edge. Than the uncomfortable moment between safe…. and evolution.

Why Your Life Demands Your Engagement
Working your life muscles gives you just that- purpose. It gives your life a strong foundation to stand on and the ability to take on whatever comes its way. The same strong foundation we create with our bodies as athletes- so we have the strength, stability and power to take on whatever the game brings that day.

When God Leaves The Building
I remember the moment it hit me. I asked God to show up and nothing changed. I continued to feel disconnected from the moment... I felt heavy, stuck, stagnant. Nothing about it lit me up or made me feel alive or safe or loved or free.
Currently:
Learning to be ok with… sitting in discomfort.
Why I Don’t Train To Be Great
As an athlete we did not train for home runs, for double plays, for game-saving diving catches... that was not in our control.
Be Moved
Here’s the reality: the world is influential. People, places, circumstances- they all have energy. Pushing us to do things, & pulling us in different directions. And I was just wondering if you’ve sat down and asked yourself.. if you're moving in your way?

The Year Of HELL YES
While being “clear” in your 20s is probably foreign to most… I found a way, even in the midst of a lot of confusion about what I was doing— to have a deep knowing about where I was going.
